PIPA Conference 2006

PIPA's 1st Annual Conference

Venue: The De Vere Belfry, Wishaw, West Midlands.

For our 1st Conference under our new identity, the PIPA committee headed out to the De Vere Belfry.

Famous for three competition golf courses, simulator, and aqua spa treatments, this Midlands hotel was an ideal place to host a fun, but educational, experience.

Our topical Pharmaceutical Information and Pharmacovigilance tracks included speakers from industry, the regulators and a variety of other sources.

In keeping with our aim of continuing professional development, there was a choice of interactive workshops. These facilitated both knowledge and hands-on experience in matters right at the heart of contemporary issues, within the atmosphere of a safe environment.

Amongst many others, the topics covered:

  • How to write PILs
  • Benefit / risk communication
  • Training the trainer
  • Preparing for a pharmacovigilance inspection
  • Remote European Pharmacovigilance management
  • An update on extending the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme to patients and....
